Dues are Due
The TVS membership year runs from January through December, so it's now time to renew your membership. The membership rates remain the same as this past year. You may download the membership application/renewal form from this web site (click on the Membership link on the left) or you may use the form on the back of every newsletter.
December Potluck Meeting
Our December meeting is our annual holiday potluck. Please bring a dish to share; TVS will provide the drinks. Note that we'll be starting a little earlier than normal--doors open at 6:30 to set up the table and chairs. We'll start feasting at 7:00. Family and friends are welcome.
TVS Election Results--More Volunteers Needed
Our annual elections are over and the officer slate remains the same. However, we still need to fill the Secretary and Vice President slots. Also, we need more members to join the Board of Directors.
In addition to the elected positions, we also need members to help with the volunteer positions. Most importantly, we need someone to take over doing the newsletter. We also need someone to handle bringing the refreshments, and we'll need someone to update the TVS web site each month. The current member who does all these things has resigned and will no longer be handling these tasks.
If you wish to help with any of these positions, please contact any officer or board member.
RASC Handbooks and Calendars Are In
We've received our shipment of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada's Handbook and Calendars. The Handbook is $22, the Calendars are $15. We'll have them on hand for sale at the December potluck. If you need your copy sooner, contact Treasurer David Feindel at feindel1 (at) comcast (dot) net.
TVS Logo Wear
You may have seen some TVS members wearing shirts and jackets embroidered with the TVS logo. If you are interested in obtaining an embroidered logo item, you can do so by ordering whatever you'd like through Land's End's Corporate Sales section and specifying TVS logo #0118948. You will need to set up an account, which will ask for the logo number and the TVS customer number (3452021).
